Question:
Who is going to pay for my medical bills after a personal injury?
Answer:
There are certain avenues that you need to keep in mind with respect to the medical bills that you incur. A lot of the medical bills may be covered by your insurance. We will discuss whether you have any private insurance a little bit more. If, in fact, you don’t have private insurance, my staff will work on getting these bills put off until the conclusion of the case. In addition to that, I will provide you with medical providers that will treat you and do what we call a lean, which means they won’t get paid until the end of the case. The one thing that you don’t want to have to worry about is paying any bills for medical providers. What do we do with the ambulance bill? We’ll call the ambulance company. We’ll tell the ambulance company you can’t pay the bill now. We’ll resolve it at the end of the case. Same thing with the hospital bill. We’ll make sure that you’re not hammered with your bills, because again, depending on the insurance that you have, you can’t afford that.
